Corruption Schemes: Transportation Company and Systemic Pressure

Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office Report

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office recently addressed a concerning situation involving the wife of a military officer who operates her husband’s transportation company. She raised issues regarding alleged pressure from officials and threats of contract termination if she did not comply with their demands. It was revealed that the company was expected to pay officials 40,000 hryvnias weekly in order to continue operating on a particular route.

Further investigation revealed that officials had entered into an agreement with another transportation company, whose director had close connections with the officials. This company was also paying the same amount — 40,000 hryvnias weekly — for the privilege of transporting passengers on the said route.
