«Ukrenergo» Company Issues Warning for Power Outages in Ukraine
«Ukrenergo» company warns that on May 24th from 00:00 to 24:00, scheduled power outages will be implemented for industrial and domestic consumers across Ukraine.
Reason Behind Power Outages
The reason for these outages is rainy weather and dense cloud cover, which prevents solar power plants from operating at full capacity, according to energy experts.
Possible Outages in Certain Regions
«Ukrenergo» emphasizes that outages may occur in cases of exceeding defined limits of electricity consumption in certain regions.
Security Concerns
It is worth noting that this spring, Russian forces repeatedly attacked objects of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. For example, on the night and morning of May 8th, according to the Ministry of Energy, RF forces attacked generation and transmission facilities in six regions — Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Vinnytsia. As a result of these attacks, there was a shortage of electricity, prompting «Ukrenergo» to introduce restrictions on energy supply for industry and businesses, and later — outages for domestic consumers.
