Ukraine: New Criteria for Support for Returnees from War Displacement

The Ukrainian representation of the UNHCR

The Ukrainian representation of the UNHCR is collecting data on individuals who have returned or are returning to Ukraine after forced displacement due to war, in order to provide them with financial assistance. This assistance is aimed at satisfying basic needs such as housing, food, and hygiene.

Criteria for Receiving Assistance

UNHCR in Ukraine is establishing criteria for receiving assistance, including the following categories of individuals who have returned in the last 6 months:

  • single parents with children under 18 or individuals over 55 years old;
  • single individuals over 55 years old or individuals living with children under 18;
  • families with individuals with special needs (disability, chronic illnesses);
  • individuals who have not previously received financial assistance from the UNHCR or other organizations.

These criteria also apply to those who have returned to Ukraine after forced displacement to other countries due to war.
