Police investigation in Fontanka village
Authorities are currently investigating a road traffic accident that took place in Fontanka village, Odessa region, in early June. The incident involved a BMW driver who, allegedly trying to escape from a police chase, collided with a Ford car and struck three pedestrians who were crossing the road at a designated pedestrian crossing.
All those involved in the accident, including the BMW driver, were taken to the hospital with various injuries. Thankfully, their lives are not in danger. Upon examination, it was discovered that the BMW driver was under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, law enforcement found that he did not have the necessary qualifications to operate a vehicle of that category and had previous violations on his record.
An investigative-operational group is currently on the scene, working diligently to determine the circumstances of the accident. Once the investigation is concluded, the legal classification of the incident will be established.
