Apple Targets Server Manufacturers for AI Orders
According to the latest data from the Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, server manufacturers for artificial intelligence are actively targeting orders from Apple ahead of the planned introduction of new AI features this year.
Supermicro, a server manufacturer, is doubling its efforts to secure orders from Apple for AI servers. This move is supported by an increase in orders from clients such as CoreWeave and Tesla, and it is expected that deliveries will increase this year.
An Apple analyst predicts that the company will spend over $4.75 billion on servers to support its AI technology in 2024 and may order up to 20,000 servers this year.
It is expected that at the WWDC conference, the company will announce new AI features in a preview of iOS 18 and other software updates. Apple CEO Tim Cook emphasized the company’s plans in the field of generative artificial intelligence for 2024 during a meeting with shareholders yesterday.
