Ukraine Under Influence of Sahara Desert Dust
On Tuesday, April 2, Ukraine remains under the influence of air currents carrying dust from the Sahara Desert. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
Expected Changes in Weather Patterns
Meteorologists note that the air pollution can be clearly seen on map №1. However, a short-term atmospheric front with rain showers is expected to arrive soon. It is also predicted that the wind direction will change from south to west — bringing a new, fresh air mass. The changes in wind direction are shown on map №2.
Future Movement of Dust
With the new wind currents, it can be predicted that during the next night, the dust will move towards Russia. This can be seen on map №3.
Improvement in Air Quality Expected
Although the concentration of dust in the air does not exceed the norm, residents of Kyiv were warned about a high level of air pollution due to the spread of dust from the Sahara. However, according to forecasts, air quality will improve after the rains, which are likely to occur on April 3-4 in most regions of Ukraine.
