Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Supports Ukraine at Upcoming NATO Summit
Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luminia Odobescu, emphasized the need for ambitious actions to support Ukraine at the upcoming NATO summit scheduled for July 9-11 in Washington.
Hopes for Decisive Decisions
During the Ukraine-NATO Council meeting on April 4, Odobescu highlighted the importance of maintaining support for Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic path and expressed hope for decisive decisions at the upcoming summit.
Path to NATO Membership
Ukraine hopes for decisions that will strengthen its path to NATO membership, including an official invitation to the Alliance. However, a «roadmap» for accession is also being considered as a minimum step, which may contain steps and timelines for membership. In recent weeks, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has indicated that discussions at the NATO summit will focus on this issue.
