March 2024: New Global Heat Record

The European Union’s climate agency Copernicus has announced that March 2024 has become the warmest month on record.

The average temperature reached 14.14 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous record set in 2016. This marks the eleventh consecutive month in which new heat records have been set, indicating a continuing increase in global temperatures. Scientists note that the record-breaking heat was expected due to the strong El Niño and the influence of marine heatwaves.
