Successful Prevention of Smuggling Attempts by Lviv Customs Officers
Lviv customs officers recently intercepted several smuggling attempts at various checkpoints, ensuring that illegal goods did not enter the country. On April 2, a 42-year-old resident of Sumy region was caught at the Krakovets-Korchova checkpoint with 586 units of new women’s clothing that had not undergone customs inspection.
In another incident, a 47-year-old resident of the Carpathian region was found attempting to smuggle 2374 units of new clothing in his car. The individual claimed that the items were for personal use and pleaded ignorance of customs regulations.
Furthermore, a 50-year-old resident of Volyn was apprehended at a customs post for trying to import a shipment of unused sneakers from popular brands like «Nike» and «Adidas». The man failed to declare the goods upon entry into Ukraine.
Customs officers have documented all cases of seized goods and have initiated administrative proceedings against the individuals involved. These successful interventions demonstrate Lviv customs officers’ commitment to preventing illegal smuggling activities.
