An accident with Iranian destroyer Sahand at Bandar Abbas port
An incident occurred on July 7th with the Iranian Navy’s modern Mouj-class destroyer Sahand at the Bandar Abbas port.
Reports from media sources suggest that the ship suffered an accident during repair work, causing part of it to go underwater.
Iranian information outlets have stated that a technical malfunction led to water ingress, causing the incident. The accident took place near a repair complex in the capital of Hormozgan province.
«During repairs, Sahand lost balance due to water ingress but was quickly stabilized,» Navy representatives reported, as per the official IRNA news agency.
There are reports of casualties resulting from the incident, with the injured being promptly taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Updates on their condition are currently unavailable.
