The City Court of Kherson Sentences Gennadiy Kompaniyets for Assisting Aggressor State
The City Court of Kherson has sentenced Gennadiy Kompaniyets for assisting the aggressor state. The man illegally took over the LLC «Pallada Shipyard», the former state-owned factory «Pallada» in Kherson, which was seized by occupiers. He organized the export of four vessels to the left bank of Kherson region and operated the enterprise on the occupied territory, opening an account in a Russian bank and paying salaries in Russian rubles.
According to the court evidence, Kompaniyets recruited management personnel in order to appropriate resources for the occupiers. He created the enterprise’s statute, registered it in Russia, and provided unhindered access for Russian military equipment and representatives of the occupying authority.
During the investigation, witnesses stated that armed Russian military personnel were present on the factory premises. The employees of the enterprise received their salaries in rubles only once, in October 2022.
Kompaniyets was found guilty of assisting the aggressor state in absentia and sentenced to 12 years in prison with property confiscation. He is also prohibited from holding positions in government bodies for 15 years. The court ordered the payment of nearly 12.4 million hryvnias to LLC «Pallada Shipyard» for the stolen vessels and nearly 103 thousand hryvnias for expert fees.
