Police investigate attack on Odessa tram driver
Authorities are looking into an incident involving an assault on a tram driver in the center of Odessa at the end of February. The suspect could face three to seven years behind bars.
Details of the incident
Reports from the National Police of Ukraine indicate that a drunken individual was causing trouble for passengers on the tram along Preobrazhenska Street. The situation escalated when the man broke the glass on the doors and removed the rearview mirror.
When the driver tried to intervene, the assailant physically assaulted her and even used pepper spray. As a result, the driver sustained chemical burns to her eyes and various injuries, confirmed by medical professionals.
