Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds to Russian president’s nuclear threats to other countries

China Calls for Restraint Amid Nuclear Threats

In the event of a nuclear war, there will be no winners, which is why China is urging all parties to exercise restraint. This statement was made by a representative of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Nin, reports Ukrinform.

She was commenting on statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the possibility of using nuclear weapons.

«China has insisted and continues to insist that all states possessing nuclear weapons must adhere to the concept of common security, maintain global strategic balance, and world stability,» emphasized Mao Nin.

According to the speaker, in the current situation, all parties must work together to reduce tensions and minimize strategic risks.

«We urge all parties to carefully consider their decisions, control their impulses, and continue to build a balanced, effective, and sustainable architecture of European security through dialogue and consultations,» she added.

It is worth noting that on February 29, Putin, during his address to the Federal Assembly, threatened «tragic consequences» to countries that dared to send their troops to Ukraine.
