NATO pledged to provide Ukraine with 40 billion euros funding

During the NATO summit in Washington, Alliance member countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with funding of 40 billion euros over the next year. This was reported by the Ukrinform agency, citing a White House press release.

Commitment to Security Assistance

«Financial support: NATO members have announced their intentions to provide basic funding of 40 billion euros for the coming year, as well as ongoing security assistance to support Ukraine’s victory,» the White House stated.

United States’ Contribution

The United States has committed to providing these funds from the funds already allocated by Congress under national security, which President Biden signed in April of this year.

Enhanced Cooperation with Ukraine

Additionally, a high-level civilian representative of the Alliance will be appointed in Kyiv at the NATO summit to further strengthen institutional ties with Ukraine, coordinating interactions with Ukrainian officials.

NSATU Mission

Furthermore, the NSATU mission will be responsible for coordinating equipment transfers, training Ukrainian military personnel, and developing capabilities to support Ukraine on its path to full operational compatibility with NATO. The goal of this mission will be to assist Ukraine in defending against Russian aggression and deterring it in the future, the White House has reported.

Ukrainian Delegation at NATO Summit

Currently, the NATO summit is ongoing in Washington, with a Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelensky in attendance.
