Ukrainian sea corridor restores pre-war export levels from the ports of Odessa

The Ukrainian maritime corridor: Successful export of over 40 million tons of products

The press service of the Ministry of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine reported that over 40 million tons of products have been exported from the ports of Odesa since the launch of the Ukrainian maritime corridor in September 2023.

The volume of transportation through this logistic route has exceeded the indicators of the «grain initiative» and reached the level of exports from the ports of Odesa in 2021, according to the announcement.

During this period, over 1400 vessels passed through the Ukrainian maritime corridor. Of the total volume of 40 million tons of cargo, more than 26 million tons are accounted for by grain and agri-food products.

Additionally, there is an increase in cargo turnover in the Danube ports of Odesa region. In the first quarter of 2024, the ports of Izmail, Reni, and Kiliya handled over 5.6 million tons of cargo, of which 4 million tons were exported.
